CDC Issues Historic Travel Warning For Miami

The Zika numbers starting to climb prompted the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to issue a precedent travel warning to pregnant women and couples for Miami on Monday.

This is the first time that a federal health agency has issued a travel warning within the United States CDC officials believe, Tom Skinner, spokesperson for the agency told the media.

Hostelling International USA plans to help 81 young people travel the world with its new Explore the World Travel Scholarship.

Launched in March, the scholarship was created to encourage Americans between the ages 18 – 30 years of age to travel outside of the United States in 2016 and 2017.

Black Women Settle Lawsuit With Napa Valley Wine Train

Sistahs on the Reading Edge settled their race discrimination lawsuit against the Napa Valley Wine Train April 18.

The Wine Train’s governing board still needs to approve the undisclosed settlement with the 11 women who were allegedly unceremoniously kicked off of the train for being loud and boisterous in August 2015, according to media reports.

US working women are more likely to go on vacation than their male counterparts.

The Alamo Family Vacation Survey’s in 2015 and 2016 found that during the past two years 63 percent of women took their paid time off in both years versus 54 and 52 percent men, each year respectively.

Cologne Police Pledge To Protect Women During Carnival

Cologne isn’t taking any chances during its popular Carnival following the New Year’s Eve fiasco where police failed to protect women from being sexually assaulted and harassed by gangs of young men.

Carnival kicks off today, Thursday, February 4, with the annual Women’s Day Carnival (Weiberfastnacht) and ends on February 9, Ash Wednesday.

Travelers around the world are crossing boarders more than ever before rather than staying home, according to the United Nations World Travel Organization.

UNWTO’s world travel experts examined the number of international arrivals in countries around the world and determined that tourism globally grew 4.4% reaching a total of 1,184 million in 2015, according to the latest UNWTO World Tourism Barometer.
