Full disclosure…no, “disclosure” isn’t even the word. This is an actual confession: 2016 marks my first Club Skirts Dinah Shore Weekend ever.
There’s no shame in that if you’re one of the baby dykes frolicking around the pool. In fact there’s a brisk trade at this year’s festival in “Dinah Virgin” t-shirts proudly worn by dozens of party girls.

Hostelling International USA plans to help 81 young people travel the world with its new Explore the World Travel Scholarship.
Launched in March, the scholarship was created to encourage Americans between the ages 18 – 30 years of age to travel outside of the United States in 2016 and 2017.

Sistahs on the Reading Edge settled their race discrimination lawsuit against the Napa Valley Wine Train April 18.
The Wine Train’s governing board still needs to approve the undisclosed settlement with the 11 women who were allegedly unceremoniously kicked off of the train for being loud and boisterous in August 2015, according to media reports.

Ann Rogers and her dog were traveling to visit her grandchildren in Phoenix when her hybrid car ran out of gas and electric power in the White Mountains of eastern Arizona.
She was lost for nine days.

Debi Bishop was named and immediately stepped into her new role as managing director of Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach Resort on April 1.
The 22-acre, 2,860-room beachfront property is Hilton’s largest hotel.
The 30-year hospitality veteran succeeds Tracy Walker, the resort’s former general manager, who was named regional general manager of Hilton Worldwide in Southern California. Tracy served as general manager of Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach Resort since 2012.

Some of the artists whose works were displayed and who also served as models, such as Cynthia Mailman, were present for the opening reception March 31.

Five French women soldiers and one survivor of war scaled Mount Kilimanjaro to raise money to support victims of war.
The women who climbed in their uniforms, except for Cecile Trompette, who was a victim of war, made it to the mountain’s summit following a seven day trek April 10.
