India With All Its Wonders Is Our Seventh Country To Explore In 2016

India is always on our list and not because it’s Super G’s heritage. I must admit Rudyard Kipling’s The Jungle Books (Penguin Classics), Gloria Steinem’s trip following graduating from Smith College (which I’m reading about right now, My Life on the Road), and E.M. Forster’s “Passage to India a [Blu-ray]” inspired me to begin dreaming of India. Stories from friends and Super G’s dad have continued to fuel my imagination until we travel to this wonderful, but complicated country.

Botswana Is Sixth On Our List Of Countries To Explore

Africa can’t boast of too many countries that are economically stable and have preserved its natural resources, but Botswana has accomplished both of these feats in its first five decades of independence. This year the southern African nation smack dab in the middle of South Africa, Namibia, and Zimbabwe turns 50.

Japan Is Fifth On Our List Of Countries To Visit In 2016

Who doesn’t love sushi? We know Japanese cuisine is more than just sushi and the culture is more than anime and manga, geishas, and origami, which is only the tipping point of why curiosity is peeked about this Asian island nation. Japan is jumping back after the earthquake and tsunami devastated the country in 2011.

We love to travel, but our breath continues to be taken away every time we fly in and see the Golden Gate Bridge, Coit Tower, the Trans-America Pyramid and of course the fog rolling in toward our flat and over San Francisco. Our hearts always belong to San Francisco.

France Is Our Third Choice To Visit In 2016

Vive La France! While there are many places to go in France, our eyes are set on Paris and Burgundy (Bourgogne) and Champagne.

We aren’t going to let the terror attacks during 2015 and the ongoing hunt for suspected terrorists scare us away from the City of Lights … no siree. Paris still bedazzles us and we are attracted to its glitter and glam. You can soak it all in – architecture, couture, cuisine, history, and exploring the markets and shops – reminiscing over an espresso at one of the many street cafes.

Brazil Is Second On Our List Of Destinations To Experience In 2016

Brazil is a spectacular place from its cities too its wilderness. The Amazon River and forest running through it, to surf and sunbathing ready beaches, to bustling cities full of art, culture, music, and food.

The Emerald Isles Is Our Number One Destination In 2016

Simply because of Girls That Roam Publisher and Editor Heather Cassell’s Irish heritage and hello … the Irish are the first and only country in the world to vote for marriage equality by popular vote last year. Ireland rocks!

It’s also the homeland of Guinness and Irish whisky (which Super G can’t wait to tour the brewery and distilleries when Girls That Roam heads to the Emerald Isle this year) and the culinary scene has been getting a nod too in Dublin.
