Upward of 12,000 foodies will descend upon the Rose City, September 17 – 20.

The final song has started for the Michigan Womyn’s Music Festival this week.
The festival’s, also known as Michfest, producer, Lisa Vogel, announced in April that this would be its final year for the festival that has been an institution dubbed as “the Original Womyn’s Woodstock” promoting women musicians and performers for 40 years.

United Airlines is about to experience turbulence yet again with a system-wide Day of Action on July 16th.
The Association of Flight Attendants-CWA (AFA) has called for the Day of Action in support of negotiations for a fair contract as the major United States airline company reports record profits this Thursday.
The airline has failed to reach a unified labor contract with its 24,000 flight attendants or complete its merger with Continental, which have been happening simultaneously since 2010, reports eTurbo News. Union contracts were supposed to be completed by the end of 2011.

One Tree Hill star Sophia Anna Bush journeyed to Northern Uganda at the end of June to promote ethical fashion brands: 31 Bits, Akola Project, and Sseko Designs developed by Ugandan women.
The now 33-year old Sophia stared as Brooke Davis on the popular 20-something drama that aired on The CW from 2003 to 2012.
“I’m leaving Uganda today with a full heart, an inspired mind, and an activated spirit,” Sophia writes in a June 27 Instagram post about her recent trip to Northern Uganda. “The women we spent our time with will forever be stitched into my heart.”

Just in time for filing taxes, Delta Air Lines takes over tax burdens of its LGBT employees’ married or in registered domestic partnerships health benefits package.
The new policy effective immediately is retroactive to January 1 of this year, according to an April 2 news release from the Atlanta-based Delta.

Gay Games and World Outgames organizers announced holding a single LGBTQ sporting tournament in 2022, announced in a blog post on the Federation of Gay Games website March 4.
Gay Game X is set for Paris, France in 2018 and the next Outgames is set for Miami, Florida in 2017.

Do you hate cruising? For years, I thought I did, too. I went on a transatlantic cruise as a teenager, and by about the fourth overcast, 50°F day, I was scanning the horizon for icebergs, because an emergency evacuation would at least have been something to do.
Years later, I went on a booze cruise out of Los Angeles. That jaunt didn’t include much time on land, either. When we did disembark, it was in Ensenada, Mexico, which is essentially a dusty, tequila-soaked suburb of San Diego whose name, I’m pretty sure, means “three-day hangover” in Spanish.
