Americans value spending time with their friends and families (48 percent) while getting a change of scenery and learning about different cultures (45 percent) while traveling. Relaxing (39 percent) was the third reason for traveling, the survey found.
A world away from Europeans who put relaxation (54 percent) on the top of their list of reasons to get away.

Nearly half of Americans, 49 percent, don’t have any summer vacation plans, the financial advice website found in a survey conducted earlier this month.
Only 36 percent of respondents who get paid vacation days plan to use all of them this year. About 13 percent of workers with paid time off don’t intend to use any vacation days, according to the survey.

A recent study found that only 22 percent of podcasts are hosted by women, and the numbers are even smaller when it comes to women of color, according to the magazine.
Spotify is on a mission to create a gender balance in the podcasting world with its Sound Up Bootcamp hosted at the company’s New York headquarters June 25–29.
