Wojo Wallet, the super hero of wallets, is ready for action day or night, lightweight, pickpocket deterrent, water repellant and heat resistant and much more

by Heather Cassell and Super G

Girls That Roam loves the Wojo Wallet. Where has it been all this time when we’ve been trying to figure out where to put our cards, cash, and keys getting ready to head out the door for a bike ride, run, taking a jaunt shopping in the neighborhood, or pairing down for a night out on the town?

Super G and I were so excited when the wallet came in the mail for us to give it a test run to see if it held up to all of the claims the company made:

  • Can be tucked away into multiple types of clothing from active wear to evening fashions
  • Transitions from day time fun to nighttime play
  • Keeps sweat and grunge at bay
  • Water and fire resistant protecting cards and cash
  • Floats on water
  • Holds keys and cash in outer band

To test it out, Super G took the Wojo Wallet to Reno to run in the Girls on the Run 5k and the 80s 5k in San Francisco, California and The North Face Endurance Challenge in Marin. She loves it so much it was hard to pry it away from her to let me test it out for a bike ride and for a day of shopping and a night out on the town going purseless around San Francisco.

Finally, I snatched it from her for a couple of days to take the wallet on a girlie adventure around town. At first it was awkward constantly grabbing for my purse and remembering the wallet was in my pocket. It was so light in my jeans I was fearful on several occasions that I had left it somewhere or worse it got snatched out of my pocket while on the bus and shopping. I nervously kept feeling for it from time to time, but those fears were unfound. Once I tried to get my cards out to purchase something. I had to use two hands to pull it out of my pocket because it kept catching on the fabric of my pocket.

The Wojo Wallet is a silicon wallet with a neoprene-lined sleeve. It holds up to six cards, driver’s license, and keys and money in the outside band that wraps around it. It’s lightweight and comes in four stylish colors (so girls, you don’t have to worry about not being fashionable).

First of all, the silicone makes it difficult for pickpockets to pluck it out of your pocket, especially if your jeans or slacks are fitting to your body. Even with slightly baggy jeans the silicone exterior sticks to the material making it somewhat difficult even for the owner of the wallet to get it out of their own pocket or a clutch (if you even use a clutch) as I experienced above when paying for something. This wallet can be nicely tucked away somewhere under your garments and you will barely notice it’s there.

The same is true when it’s being used for outdoor activities. The wallet sticks to the pocket of the shorts or cycling pants. Super G and I were concerned that the wallet with our stuff in it would still be too bulky or an additional weight in our exercise clothes, but that wasn’t the case at all. Like with shopping, the wallet was so light it is barely noticeable in exercise clothes throughout each bike ride and run. Even more important, everything was secure and dry after each outdoor activity.

The wallet is perfect for festivals to a night out on the town. It provides a sense of security due to its nature to cling to material in a desperate attempt to not be separated. It felt safer at bars, in crowded casinos, restaurants and traveling around with the Wojo Wallet in our pockets simply because it is hard to remove. It felt safe in the crowds knowing that we could feel if an attempt that the wallet was being removed by someone.

We had no concerns about taking Wojo with us while traveling abroad. Our experience at home helped us feel even more secure with Wojo in our pockets and bags.

We didn’t attempt to drop the Wojo Wallet Wojo Wallet into water to see if it actually floats or light it on fire to see if it is heat resistant. The water test will be saved for our next trip where we head down to a pool, although on hindsight it would have been interesting to see how the Wojo withstood the Dead Sea.

We will trust the creators of the Wojo Wallet that it passed the fire test.

The down side: Keys. The Wojo Wallet only works with traditional keys or valet keys that pop out of the fob for newer cars. That’s the only issue Super G had, but it didn’t change how either one of us feel about the Wojo Wallet: We love it!

Wendy Gavinski Designs Divas SnowGear for the Snow Girl in You

How many times has this happened to you: You’re going out snowmobiling and you realize you don’t have a thing to wear?

Okay, maybe it’s never happened to you. It’s never happened to me, either. But it could: over 1.4 million snowmobiles (“sleds,” to those in the know) are registered in this country, and the numbers are growing. Women are making up an increasing percentage of the total, and so every year, more and more women find themselves ready to hit the trails with almost literally nothing to wear.
