“We are thrilled to partner with R Family Vacations,” says Judy Dlugacz, president and founder of Olivia, in the joint news release May 5. “Our decision to join forces was so that our two companies can serve a need in our community and bring families together in an environment where they can be completely comfortable.”

Judy, founded Olivia Records in 1973 which morphed into Olivia Travel in 1990, and is a long-time leader in the LGBT community.

In a recently survey conducted by Olivia, more than 30 percent of its guests are now raising families or have an interest in traveling with their grandchildren.

“This partnership seemed like the perfect evolution for both Olivia and R Family,” says Gregg Kaminsky, founding partner of R Family Vacations.

Gregg co-founded the LGBT family vacation company with Kelli Carpenter in 2003.

Olivia Travel & R Family Vacations are both renowned for their signature entertainment and programming.

“We want to offer the biggest fully-chartered resort vacation for the entire LGBT community and their families and friends. Everyone is welcome to travel with us,” says Gregg.

The travel companies selected Puerto Vallarta because of its reputation as an LGBT-friendly destination in Mexico offering many welcoming resorts. It was the perfect destination for the group’s first co-hosted trip, the travel leaders say in the release.

Family Equality Council, Aqua Foundation, as well as other organizations serving LGBT families will also participate in promoting this unique family vacation experience.
