Spanish speaking budget travelers rejoice! Motel 6 will Dejaremos la luz encendida para ti (We’ll leave the light on for you),” as of October 30.

Motel 6 broadened its horizons with the launch of its first Spanish language mobile web experience. A desktop-friendly website is anticipated to be launched by the end of 2014, says Lance Miceli, executive vice president and chief marketing officer of Motel 6.

Travelers will be able to directly access reservation tools, guest services as well as detailed views of Motel 6 properties in Spanish. Many Motel 6 locations offer swimming pools and guest laundry facilities in addition to Wi-Fi, free local calls, no long distance access charges, free morning coffee and expanded cable channel line-up.

The budget motel chain, which has more than 1,100 company-owned and franchised locations throughout the United States and Canada, is seeking to reach 405 million Spanish speaking travelers through its new “En Espanol” link at the bottom of the chain’s website.

Motel 6 is committed to transform its digital experience to make it easier for Spanish speaking travelers to make their reservations with the motel as its leadership positions itself to expand its brand into Latin America in the future.

Spanish is the second most spoken language in the world following Mandarin, which has more than 955 million speakers, with many speakers in the Americas and Europe, Accredited Language Services. English is the third most spoken language in the world with 360 million speakers worldwide.

“Our ability to host an all-Spanish digital presence is another step towards the goal of becoming increasingly recognized as the uncontested leader in the economy segment,” says Lance.

A brand leader, Motel 6 has been one of the most recognized lodging options in the budget hotel segment for nearly 30 years, according to an October 30 Motel 6 news release.

Motel 6 is managed and operated by G6Hospitality LLC.

The new website is supported by Translations.com’s language services and GlobalLink OneLink technology, a leading provider of enterprise localization services and technology solutions. Translations.com offers a full range of services in 170+ languages to clients worldwide.
