Mokulele Airlines will begin offering daily flights between Waimea-Kohala Airport (MUE) on Hawai’I’s Big Island and Kahului Airport (OGG) on Maui starting Sept. 21.
“Our new route will make it more convenient for the residents of the Waimea area to travel to Maui,” explains Mokulele President and CEO Ron Hansen. “Then, if their plans include a trip to O’ahu, they can take a connecting flight to Honolulu from there.”
“This route will also provide Big Island visitors with easy access to the beautiful resorts on the North Kohala coast,” he adds.
Hawai’I’s number one island hopper budget airline replaces Pacific Wings, which has ceased offering service on this route, and was awarded a contract from the U.S. Department of Transportation, which allowed the airline to begin offering daily service.
Mokulele will operate two daily flights from the Waimea-Kohala and Kahului Airports.
