Travel Deal Tuesday Gives Travelers Their Own Special Day Of Deals That Are Absolute Steals For The Globetrotting Set

Globetrotters get set, get ready and … GO! Travel Tuesday is here. The day of the year when travel deals are unleashed.
“This year, the travel industry is all in on the post-Thanksgiving sales phenomenon,” said Gabe Saglie, an editor and anchor at Travelzoo, told Market Watch. “Best-price-of-the-year bargains will be par for the course.
Hopper, a flight deal scanning app, landed upon Travel Tuesday a couple of years ago while looking at flight price data. The digital travel company was searching for Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals. The good minds at Hopper did what any good travel shopper would do, they were flexible with their dates and reran the information. In doing so, the travel deal hunters discovered that the best deals weren’t actually on Black Friday or Cyber Monday, but on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving.
Hence, the birth of Travel Tuesday. The new shopping day is gaining awareness and momentum as the hospitality and travel industries embrace the new shopping day dedicated to the industry.
Global explorers are also discovering this newly found gold mine that is giving them one more day to dream about where they want to go, shop and a reason to book.
Today, November 27, travel shoppers can expect to see two times the deals on flights and hotels than on Black Friday and Cyber Monday. The deals are anticipated to save travelers up to 20 percent off domestic and international flights and up to 40 percent depending on the destinations, according to Hopper.
The Hopper team already sent out more than 1 million deal notifications leading up to Travel Tuesday, the travel scanning site noted.
Hopper’s competitor, Skyscanner, has also adjusted its website and app to suggest the best destination deals from the airport closest to travelers by month to deliver deals to travelers.
Gabe said, “Travelers who are flexible with their schedule and ready to pounce could score big.”
However, he cautioned travel shoppers to “keep an eye out for things like specific travel [dates] and strict cancellation policies” these are the “few caveats” that come with these deals, he said.
How To Find These Amazing Deals
It’s still a scavenger hunt out there. Currently, the best way to hunt down these deals is:
- Set up a Google Alert for “Travel Tuesday Deals”
- Sign up for Hopper and Skyscanner apps
- Join your favorite airlines, hotel and travel companies email lists
- Create a Twitter list of your favorite airlines, hotels, travel companies and wait for those push alerts with the deals to come in
- Follow your favorite airlines, hotels, travel companies on TripAdvisor #TravelDealTuesday and Facebook to receive push alerts for the deals.
The deals are out there. Travelers just have to be savvy shoppers to find them.

What are the hot destinations in 2019? Hopper data is predicting some of the biggest deals will be travel to Paris, Hong Kong, Sydney, Miami, Rio de Janeiro, and Los Angeles, but that’s just the beginning.
Some airlines and hotels have already extended Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals into Travel Tuesday. Here are some of the offers out there right now:
WOW Airlines is offering 40 percent off its already rock bottom flights to any of the destinations the air carrier flies to. How can you get this amazing deal? Join the WOW Loyalty Club and use the promo code WOWCYBERMONDAY now through November 28. The catch … there’s always a catch, travel must take place by the end of April 2019.
Southwest Vacations is offering up to $125 off of any of its domestic destinations and up to $250 off of any of its international destinations and your bags fly free. To pack these savings, book through Southwest Vacations Cyber Week page and use the codes SAVE125DOM* for domestic travel and SAVE250INT* for international travel when booking your vacation now through December 3 until 11:59 p.m. Central Standard Time. The catch is travelers must take off between now and June 7, 2019 to take advantage of this deal.
Check out online travel agencies Travelocity, Orbitz, and Priceline apps. Hotel deals abound in these apps with prices slashed by 50 percent on certain hotels and resorts. Use the promo code FRIDAYAPP18 to get 18 percent off bookings using Travelocity’s app. Use the promo code THANKFUL for Orbitz.
Tripmasters is offering steep discounts on a six-night French Riviera vacation for $681. The trip includes round-trip airfare, car rental, hotel with breakfast at Juan Les Pins. A similarly priced trip to Florence and Rome is also being offered by the travel company, reported Market Watch.
Book a cruise on Peregrine Adventures and your travel partner can go with you for free. The buy one, get one free is only available on select cruise itineraries booked up to November 30. The caveat is that the trips are scheduled only for December, January, and February. If you can swing it, you can save at least $3,020 on your trip, reported Fodors.
