Authorities Are Searching For A Mother And Her Daughter Who Were Reported Missing After Days Of Being Off The Radar

by Heather Cassell

A Canadian mother and daughter on a camping trip to Northern California are missing.

Audrey Rodrigue, 29, and her daughter Emily Rodrigue, 10, were reported missing by Audrey’s boyfriend August 27, according to the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office.

The mother and daughter arrived on a flight at San Francisco International Airport and rented a gray 2018 Ford Focus with the license number 8DIN900 on August 25.

The two checked into the Vagabond Hotel in Burlingame after arriving and checked out before 12 p.m. on Sunday.

That same day, Audrey texted her boyfriend, but he was unable to contact her after receiving the text, sheriff’s officials told NBC News.

It is believed that Audrey and Emily were heading to the Pigeon Point Hotel in Pescadero, but they never arrived.

The two had a reservation for the Fish Lake Campground, near Orleans in Humboldt County for August 28.

Campers and park staff believed they saw the mother and daughter when park rangers checked the camp area and showed photos of the Audrey and Emily.

The two did not appear to be in distress campers and staff said, but they left without knowing the rangers were looking for them, sheriff’s officials said.

The San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in finding Audrey and Emily and/or their rental car. Anyone who sees them should call 911 or Detective Fava at 650-363-4192.
