Al Khaima Set to Open at Centara Ras Fushi Resort and Spa

by Heather Cassell

Al Khaima, the first Arabian Bedouin tent-style restaurant in the Maldives, is on schedule to open at the Centara Ras Fushi Resort and Spa July 15.

“We are very pleased to announce that Centara Ras Fushi Resort and Spa is now fully open, and that our guests have the choice of four fine restaurants,” says Thirayuth Chirathivat, chief executive officer of Centara Hotels and Resorts.

“The Maldives is, we feel, one of the world’s most exciting holiday destinations and we are delighted to be an active promoter of tourism to these lovely islands,” he says.

Centara Ras Fushi Resort and Spa (North Male’ Atoll, North Male Atoll , Republic of Maldives, 00 (9) 60-664-3880, , CentaraHotelsResorts.com) in the Maldives softly launched April 15 and quickly shot to the number one position on TripAdvisor.com as the North Male Atoll’s favorite destination for honeymoons within its first six weeks, according to a Centara Ras Fushi Resort and Spa July 9 news release.

The villa-only resort, located just 15 minutes by speedboat from Male International Airport, is adult-focused with no guests under the age of 12 years accommodated.

The resort is Centara’s second in the Maldives, the first being Centara Grand Island Resort and Spa, in South Ari Atoll. A third resort is currently under construction.

Centara Ras Fushi Resort has a beachfront swimming pool, an oceanfront Spa Cenvaree, a water sports center offering excursions and both motorized and non-motorized activities, a PADI dive center, and complimentary Wi-Fi.

In addition to Al Khaima, Centara Ras Fushi has La Brezza, an Italian restaurant sited next to the lagoon, Suan Bua, which serves authentic Thai food, and Oceans, open all day and serving international and Asian cuisines.

There are three bars at the resort, serving snacks in addition to drinks, with in-villa dining available 24 hours.

Centara Hotels and Resorts is Thailand’s leading operator of hotels, with 41 deluxe and first-class properties covering all the major tourist destinations in the Kingdom. The hotel and resort company also operates 58 properties in total with 17 resorts in the Maldives, Vietnam, Shanghai, Bali Indonesia, Sri Lanka and Mauritius Indian Ocean.

Centara continues to grow its brand. In 2015, the hotelier plans to launch the first hotel of its new line of hotels, COSI Hotels. COSI Hotels is an economy brand designed for travelers who predominantly make their bookings via the Internet and who want comfort and convenience at the most friendly prices available.

Centara Hotel and Resorts also operates 27 branches of Spa Cenvaree, one of Thailand’s most luxurious and innovative spa brands, together with its newly-launched value brand Cense by Spa Cenvaree. Cense by Spa Cenvaree provides core spa services for busy travelers.

Centara brands and properties ensure that specific categories such as couples, families, individuals, and meetings and incentives groups will all find a hotel or resort that is appropriate to their needs.
