When Ashley Davidson left San Francisco for Seattle she didn’t leave her heart with the city she left it with Beats for Boobs.
October 13, marks the third annual Beats for Boobs in Seattle. Set in the trendy Belltown neighborhood at the Crocodile, one of the city’s premiere live music venues.
“It’s going to be awesome,” says Ashley, event director of Beats for Boobs Seattle, about the lineup of this year’s local DJs fashion designers, and more. Spinning the music for the dance floor and the runway are Miss Shelrawka, L.A. Kendall, and to name a few local mixtresses who will make an appearance at Beats for Boobs. Rene Ropas, Chrissy Wai Ching, and Irene Wood are some of the designers who will flash their wears and bling down the catwalk.
Ashley met Juliana and Barbara Cochnar, Juliana’s mother, in 2004 when she lived in the same building as Juliana in San Francisco. She quickly fell in love with Barbara and Beats for Boobs. A marketing and event coordinator, Ashley soon found herself overseeing the ambiance and image of the event for three years before taking it to Seattle.
When a new love came into her life, Ashley, 42, followed her heart to Seattle in 2008, but she couldn’t leave Beats for Boobs behind. She talked Juliana into taking Beats for Boobs to other cities and produced Seattle’s first event in 2010.
Seattle’s Beats for Boobs under Ashley’s direction attracted 300 guests and raised $12,000 for three local breast cancer organizations its first year, she says. Last year, the event raised $6,000 for local breast cancer organizations.
Last year also marked the launch of Beats for Boobs Los Angeles.
“It’s incredible, it really is,” says Ashley, recalling the breast cancer survivors modeling local designers’ creations in the fashion show and other events. “There are so many moments of last year’s events that were very touching.”
This year she’s expecting to attract the same amount of guests to come out to support the Young Survivor Coalition of Seattle and Seattle Cancer Care Alliance.
