4 Non Blondes Reunite for One Night at “An Evening with Women”

By Heather Cassell

4 Non Blondes are reuniting to perform for the first time in two decades for one night only at the “An Evening with Women” benefit gala for the Los Angeles Lesbian and Gay Center.

Actor, model and singer Evan Rachel Wood will join the band for a special performance.

Comedian Margaret Cho is the divalicious host of the star studded affair benefiting the Center’s services for women and girls.

Girls That Roam is sure that “What’s Up?” from the band’s breakthrough album Bigger, Better, Faster, More! that sold more than 6 million copies worldwide will be on the playlist.

The band broke up shortly after their mega success and Linda Perry went solo in 1994.

Linda married CBS’s “The Talk” co-host Sara Gilbert March 31.

Fans of the ‘90’s rock band, that was formed by bassist Christa Hillhouse, guitarist Shaunna Hall, drummer Wanda Day, and vocalist and guitarist Linda in San Francisco in 1989, will rock out down Riot Grrl and grunge memory lane on Saturday, May 10th at the Beverly Hills Hilton (9876 Wilshire Boulevard, 310-274-7777, , BeverlyHilton.com).

The event is always attended by some of the most influential women in music and entertainment, according to the April 18 news release.

“To give is one of the greatest gifts one could ever receive. ‘An Evening with Women’ is all of us giving heart, passion, time and self. I want to be of service and what better way than to create an evening raising awareness by celebrating life, music and community,” says Linda, pointing out how the Center has helped many people throughout the years.

This is the 12th “An Evening with Women” Co-hosted and produced by Grammy Award-winner Linda and Brent Bolthouse. Since Linda first began producing the annual gala it has raised more than $4.1 million.

Past performers at “An Evening with Women” have included Christina Aguilera, Pink, Cyndi Lauper, Heart, Cat Power, Courtney Love, Juliette Lewis, Ozzy Osbourne and Sia.
